The car washes took place over four days in their car park at Europarc and £450 was raised to buy food which they have donated to three local food banks, Rock Foundation, We Are One and Oasis Hub.

The soap-tastic team - Kathryn Woolley, Coron Mann-Ballard and Moira Cross - have recently completed the site’s first Recipe for Success course, which is a new Learning and Development initiative for first time managers. The charity car wash was a key project as they were passionate about helping people in the local community due to the current cost of living crisis.

After speaking to the local Food Banks to understand which products were needed, the team had a trolley dash around Dee Bee’s, buying products such as baby food, pasta, tinned tomatoes, porridge and soup.

Kathryn Woolley, QA Team Leader, said: “We chose to donate to local Food Banks as we wanted to help the local community and to be able to reduce the pressure families are under currently. This may even help our own colleagues.

“Thank you to Dee Bee’s for their support.”

Stacy Picker, Grimsby Soups and Sauces General Manager, said: “I’m really proud of the team for rising to the challenge as part of their development programme. We look forward to other colleagues following their lead.”
