Holland’s Pies celebrates 170 years!

21 September 2021

This month, proper Lancashire baker Holland’s Pies is celebrating its 170th anniversary and to mark the occasion, is giving pie lovers the chance to get in on a very special delivery…

After setting up shop in 1851, Holland’s made Baxenden its home in 1929 – where it has baked the tasty pies and puds everyone knows and loves, ever since.

As a token of appreciation for the village of 4,042, it’s offering everyone in Bash the chance to tuck into a dozen of its golden treats, complete with a portion of peas on the side courtesy of Batchelors. 170 lucky winners, one for every year Holland’s ovens have been baking, will get their hands on a selection.

To get a slice of the action, all pie fans need to do is head to the Holland’s website, fill in the details, and wait to see whether they’re one of the lucky 170 randomly selected to win. It’s easy! But be quick – the deadline is 20th October.

But that’s not all. Everyone’s familiar with the happy faces found on the pie maker’s bakes, so to add to its celebrations Holland’s is asking everyone to share pictures of their pies – and their favourite pie and side combinations – with the team on social. The best will make the Holland’s ‘Hall of Fame’!

Leanne Holcroft, Brand Manager at Holland’s Pies said:

“We’re excited to be celebrating such a landmark anniversary, with 170 years of history behind us, Holland’s Pies has become the oldest meat pie manufacturer in the UK!

“To mark this joyous occasion, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be celebrating with the villagers of Baxenden, partnering with Batchelors Peas to give them a chance to win a very special delivery of our tasty Holland’s Pies and peas.

“Having worked in the heart of the community, we’ve grown our northern base to serve homes and families across the UK, so fans outside Baxenden should keep an eye out on our social feeds to see what we have planned over the next few months.”
